The Association was established in 1999 in order to unite collectors, researchers and everybody else interested in Soca (Isonzo) battlefields and - in cooperation with formal expert institution contribute to protection ofWWl historical heritage.



Association was named after the famous 87th Infantry Regiment ( K.u.K. Infanterie Regiment Freiherr von Succovaty ) that fought on the hills above Solkan.
It is our aim to cherish the memory of the fallen soldiers of the 87th Regiment as well as all the other Slovenian soldiers who fought in the Great War and formed new Slovenian Army during the closing days of the First World War. Apart from preserving the memory of the soldiers we also aim to protect and preserve the heritage of the WW1, such as monuments, graveyards, trench systems and casemates and all the other remnants left behind the bloody conflict. This being our rich historical heritage we aim to protect it from the corrosive effects of time.
